“This is a unique and generous red wine, just as Colby is a unique and generous child. I blend five different grape varieties to make a red that is juicy and velvety smooth, with rich fruit flavors and a soft finish.”

2015 Colby Red
Vintage 2015 was another stellar growing year in California. Quality across the board was high. We had a lighter crop compared to last year and it was one of the earliest seasons on record. The fourth year of drought, a mild winter causing early bud break, followed by protracted flowering and unseasonably cool weather in spring, contributed to smaller grape clusters and the variable crop size we noticed.
The 2015 Colby Red wine, a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah, is a deep crimson color. Aromas of ripe red cherries, raspberries and star anise jump from the glass. The wine is generous on the palate with a rich mouthfeel complemented by well-integrated tannins and bold flavors of red berry and hints of clove spice. The finish is smooth with a slight toasty, vanillin character which lingers and is achieved from oak aging. Easy to drink and enjoy, this wine is a crowd pleaser.
